Queen Mary 2 gets new venue: Carinthia Lounge
More details have been revealed from Cunard Line on their flagship Queen Mary 2 refurbishments.
Queen Mary 2 is due to into dry-dock in 2016 for a massive 25-day refurbishment. We’ve already reported recently on her changes to Queen’s Grill and Princess Grills and also the Britannia Club changes.
Now, the cruise line has revealed a brand new venue will be built in the ship, providing light breakfast and lunch options and also offering evening entertainment options.
The venue will be called the Carinthia Lounge (named after an ex-Cunard ship, Carinthia – 1956-68) and will be located on Deck 7 (the Promenade Deck)
During the day, passengers will be able to choose from the selection in the venue’s patisserie and enjoy premium coffee and tea options. Its location allows guests to enjoy a nice walk on the Promenade Deck or visit the Spa, which is just next door.
The Carinthia Lounge will be decorated in powder blue, cream and gold colourings with a small dark walnut timber dance floor. On evenings, it’ll offer light entertainment and table service with small platters and premium wines available to passengers.
