MSC Cruises Announces New Cruise Terminal at PortMiami
New terminal will handle new World-Class ships
PortMiami, the Cruise Capital of the World has yet another development agreement for a new terminal to be built by 2022 for MSC Cruises. This move shows a serious commitment to the North American market by MSC Cruises.
MSC Cruises has announced the signing of an agreement for construction on a new Cruise Terminal at PortMiami. Miami is known as the Cruise Capital of the World and the terminal signifies MSC Cruises’ commitment to the North American market. It is projected to be completed by October 2022.
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, commented: “The new agreement and expanded partnership with PortMiami and Miami-Dade County is another key step forward in the business growth of MSC Cruises, as we continue to strengthen our global footprint, with a strategic focus on North America.”
PortMiami is MSC Cruises’ exclusive home-port in the region and the new terminal will be able to accommodate the next-generation of MSC World Class cruise ships that will carry up to 7,000 guests.
MSC Cruises is slowly growing a North-American fleet based out of Miami. MSC Seaside, which debuted in late 2017, was purpose-built for the U.S. market and is permanently positioned in Miami. She currently sails on Caribbean itineraries year-round.
MSC Divina offers similar cruises seasonally between October and March. Also due to begin sailing in this region from December 2018 is MSC Armonia. She will sail to Havana, Cuba year-round.
Additionally, MSC Meraviglia will also be based out of Miami as of November 2019.
