MS Oosterdam (Holland America Line)

MS Oosterdam is a Vista-class ship, a popular choice for many Carnival brands due to her Panamax dimensions (the maximum dimensions until June 2016 that would fit through the Panama Canal)

She is the second ship in her class and primarily operates out of Civitavecchia (Rome) in the summer – performing roundtrip Mediterranean cruises. In the winter she moves to Florida, USA and home-ports in Tampa whilst operating roundtrip cruises to the Caribbean.

Symbolic of Holland America Line’s more than 140-year history of circumnavigating the globe, the centerpiece of MS Oosterdam is a magnificent Waterford crystal globe, prominently displayed in the three-story atrium.

The prefixes of MS Oosterdam and her three sisters’ names represent all four directions of the compass! This ship represents the East direction on the compass as Oost is East in Dutch.
