P&O Iona Exclusive First Look

Over 30 different restaurants and bars will be available

P&O Cruises’ Iona will be the largest ship ever built specifically for the British market and will boast many firsts for the cruise line. Due to set sail in 2020, here are some of the new venues you’ll find on board:

The Grand Atrium

Stunning three-deck high glass walls let panoramic sea views take centre stage in Iona’s Grand Atrium, the heart of the ship. Accompanied by a sweeping staircase, the Atrium is sure to wow anyone who steps on board.

The space acts as one of four primary entertainment venues onboard and offers activities and performances throughout the day. During the day it’s a great place to meet, dine, relax or just soak in the sublime views. After dark, the space transforms into an immersive destination venue with both intimate spaces and larger social areas.


New Dining Venues

There will be a total of 30 different restaurants and bars for guests to choose from – the widest selection on any cruise ship custom-built for the UK market.

The Keel & Cow

A totally new venue for the P&O fleet, The Keel and Cow offer top-quality gastropub meals that will make British cruisers will feel right at home. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of views of the Grand Atrium, sea views or of your chefs at work in the open kitchen.

Expect to find variations of all of your British favourites, from the signature beef and stout burger to beer-battered fish and triple-cooked chips and black pudding scotch eggs! The evening menu offers an impressive range of steaks from the dry-ageing fridge.

Vista Café Bar

Another new venue that will open throughout the day, the Vista Café Bar is a place where guests can be served premium tea, coffee and snacks. The café will also offer delectable treats from master pâtissier Eric Lanlard.

The Emerald Bar

Yet another new venue for P&O Cruises, The Emerald Bar is a premium cocktails lounge with a living-room feel and Covent Garden-style vibe. A trendy spot for pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap.

The Glass House

The Glass House, P&O Iona

A popular P&O Cruises dining venue, The Glass House, has also been included in the plans for Iona and will be located on Deck 7 near the Grand Atrium. The impressive menu and wine list have been curated by the award-winning wine expert Olly Smith.

The Cellar Door experience will offer wine connoisseur guests wine tastings, wine-pairing menus and lectures on the subject.

The design of the space is light and contemporary with floor-to-ceiling wine displays and mixed furnishings for a comfortable and intimate setting.

The Quays Piazza
This is where guests will find lively and sociable dining and self-service takeaways with various venues offering a range of international cuisines like Asian street food and American Diner classics.


New Entertainment Venues

SkyDome
The SkyDome on Decks 16 and 17 is a brand new entertainment space and a star attraction onboard.

The prismatic glass dome roof is one of the most impressive features amongst the pool and retractable stage. Guests can relax by the pool by day and enjoy informal dining, hot tub and lounging areas. By night, the space comes alive with immersive shows, deck parties and aerial performances.

710 Club
This all-new, music-orientated and adult-only venue has already been touted as an exclusive spot for music cocktail lovers, modelled on the décor and atmosphere of a Covent Garden-style hangout.

The sophisticated lounge will host a diverse range of top-class singers and bands tailored for a British audience. Genres include classic and modern jazz, swing, Rat Pack, modern and acoustic rock music.

Ocean Studios
This boutique cinema is yet another first for the cruise line. The theatre will provide luxury seating with four screens offering classic movies and recent blockbusters in surround sound throughout the day. Popcorn and other snacks will, of course, be available as part of this premium cinema experience.

The Club House
P&O’s classic entertainment venue, The Club House will offer all of the usual activities for all ages from trivia and game shows during the day to live music and dancing in a ‘live lounge’ atmosphere in the evenings.

The Limelight Club
This adult-only, show-business themed venue provides a complete feast for the senses with great food and amazing entertainment. The venue will showcase a range of performers and live music by Iona’s house band. Dance classes and hosted dancing events will take place during the day.

Headliners Theatre
A contemporary and sophisticated theatre with plush seating and the latest LED technology. The two-deck high auditorium ensures everyone has a great view. This is where the production shows, performances, cabaret and comedy all happen! In the daytime, matinee performances, lectures, films and Q&As are held for guests to enjoy.

The Ivory Suite
This is where the magic happens for all of your special occasions like weddings and renewals of vows. It’s an intimate venue that can cater for mid-sized ceremonies tailored to guests’ desires.

For the Kids

The Reef
P&O’s kid’s club, The Reef, is a free program with activities and an enthusiastic crew of staff. There is a secure outdoor play area, a designated splash park and age-specific entertainment and playgroups:

Nursery, 6 months – 2 years
Splashers 2 – 4 years
Surfers 5 – 8 years
Scubas 9 – 12 years

Parents can also make use of the complimentary Night Nursery for children aged 6 months to 4 years between 6 pm and 2 am every night.

Scene
The cool, top-secret onboard hangout for teens aged 13-17 offers younger cruisers their own space on Deck 6 with a program of planned events they can choose to attend. In the off-peak cruising season, the space becomes an entertainment venue for adults.
