AIDA Cruises choose God Family instead of Godmother to name ship
AIDA Cruises has named a God Family to christen their newest and largest ship on the 31st of August.
The family of four from Hanau, Hesse were selected from hundreds of hopeful candidates. Sonja, Asad and their two children Sophia aged 2 and Adrian aged 3 will attend the glitzy event to christen the new ship currently under construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
The event, AIDA Open Air, is expected to be attended by 25,000 spectators with an amazing show to accompany the christening and live music by David Guetta.
It’ll be a special night for AIDA as they welcome their newest ship but it will be particularly memorable for Sonja and Asad who are also celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on the same night.
“It is an indescribably great honour for us to christen AIDAnova. We still can not believe we are the winners of the Christening Family Contest. The christening of AIDAnova will be an unforgettable event for our whole family,” said Sonja.[xyz-ihs snippet=”bc-inarticle”]
