Second EDGE-Class ship to sail from Southampton
Celebrity Apex is to launch in the UK and sail from Southampton for her first voyages!
The new Celebrity ship will be christened in Southampton in April 2020 before sailing several voyages from the port – the first time in ten years that a brand new Celebrity ship has done so. Celebrity Apex will be the second ship to join the Edge-class following Celebrity Edge which is due to set sail out of Florida in late November of this year.
This marks the cruise line’s significant commitment to the UK market as it’ll be the first time that Celebrity has operated two ships from Southampton – Celebrity Silhouette will be returning for her third consecutive year in 2020.
Celebrity Apex will offer revolutionary accommodation options from Edge Staterooms with Infinite Balcony to Twin-level Edge Villas with outdoor plunge pools. There will be a wide variety of dining options for guests who will have 29 world-class culinary venues to choose from including 7 brand new speciality restaurants. Innovative and modern new spaces such as the Magic Carpet and Rooftop Garden will impress the most cosmopolitan cruisers.
Bookings for Celebrity Apex will open November 29, 2018.
Two more Edge-Class ships are on the books for Celebrity and though they are yet to be named, a spokesman for the cruise line has hinted that it may not be the last we’ve heard of Celebrity Beyond – the name that Celebrity Apex previously bore.
